Daily Events pages

The Hinode Daily Events page is at: http://www.isas.jaxa.jp/home/solar/hinode_op/hinode_daily_events_login.php

Your first activity of the week is to edit these pages for your week. Note that you will be editing the pages for the period 11 UT Monday to 11 UT the following Monday which is not the same as your planning week.

You have to do three things:

  1. For each of the three days that correspond to the start of a new OP (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) you need to state when the EIS table upload will take place. In the table at the top of the webpage, go to the 2nd pass in the table and edit the last column of this row. Simply add the words "EIS: Table upload". See previous planning days for examples. The EIS table upload will always occur in the 2nd pass unless someone has told you otherwise.
  2. Add the CO's name to the table at the bottom of the webpage. For each day edit the Evening row of this table, putting your surname in the EIS CO column, with "RCO" in brackets. For Friday you should put the name of both yourself and the next CO. For Saturday and Sunday you should only put the name of the next CO. You can find the next EIS CO by logging onto the eisops Google account and looking at the calendar.
  3. For each of the three days corresponding to the start of the OP periods you should indicate provisional EIS plans. These are based on the contents of the EIS Observing Schedule document sent out by Len Culhane. If you have personal observations that you would like to do, you should also enter these. An example entry is:
    EIS:
    • HOP 73 quiescent prominences
    • CME watch
    • Bright point study

During the weekly meeting you may be asked specific questions about any non-HOP studies, so use the notes in the Observing Schedule to check the purpose of the study. The weekly meeting is also a good time to say if you need particular supporting observations from XRT or SOT for the EIS studies.

Daily meetings

You will participate in the meeting through telephone and Yugma. At the meeting start time you should dial into the telecon using the specified number and passcode. Once you have successfully joined the telecon, you should join the Yugma meeting using the specified meeting code.
